I received MSc in biochemistry from Warsaw University and obtained PhD in the same field at the Institute of Biochemistry and
Biophysics (IBB), Polish Academy of Science. I worked at IBB as research assistant until 1980, when I moved to England and joined
the Biochemistry Department of Cambridge University, in the laboratory of Richard Jackson.
In 1983 I attended a conversion course at the University College, London, where I received MSc in information technology in 1984.
From 1985 to 1995 I worked as a software engineer in FEGS Ltd, Cambridge, developing software for finite element analysis pre-processing,
before being employed in Affinity Sensors (Bar Hill, Cambridge) in a similar role. There, I was mainly involved in software development for the IASYS
robotic system but also participated in user and system support.
My next job in England was as a cheminformatics analyst with Celltech
(now UCB Celltech, Granta Park, Cambridge). My main resposibilities in that company were support, maintenance and customization of
scientific applications used in drug research.
Having moved to Spain in 2004 I joined Rune Matthiesen's bioinformatics group at CIC bioGUNE in 2006; there I was mainly involved in
writing software tools for Mass Spectrometry analysis programme (VEMS).
I joined the Genome Analysis group in 2008. My main task at the moment is the maintenance and development of the Genome Analysis Platform
services website and our group's website.
Part of my time is devoted to the maintenance, content management and functional improvement of CIC bioGUNE website.
I am involved also in gene expression analysis tasks undertaken by the Genome Analysis Platform.
